“In 2015, after many years as a Graphic & Web/UX designer, I founded the creative agency Sherpa. As the Creative Director, I oversaw a small, passionate team of designers, developers and content writers, to design branding, packaging, and custom websites.
After 6+ years, and many happy clients, I left to pursue a career in the cider industry.
Today, I am proud to launch Cultivar, a company that fuses two of my greatest passions in life…cider and creativity.”
I began making cider as a hobby in the fall of 2019 and quickly became obsessed. I read voraciously and absorbed as much cider knowledge as I could…needless to say, I fell in love with fermentation, the history of cider, and the industry as a whole.
In January of 2022, I joined Bauman’s Cider as their Marketing Director, on a 6-month contract where I was tasked with a brand refresh, building a new website, designing new packaging, and running social media among many other duties. I also had the opportunity to learn cidermaking from one of the most award-winning cidermaking teams in America.
In July of 2022, I took a position as the Head Cidermaker at 19 Acres Cider Co. In addition to my cidermaking and cellar duties, I managed their social media as well as designed the visual/graphic elements of the tasting room and all marketing collateral for the brand. I left that position in March of 2023, but was honored and humbled to win several awards for the recipes I conceived, and the cider I made during my time there.
I am also a Certified Cider Professional (CCP Level 1), I have completed the Cider Institute of North America (CINA) Cider & Perry Production Foundations course, and I’m currently studying to take the Certified Pommelier exam this February.

Before I started working in the cider industry, I noticed a big difference in the way cider brands approached their design and marketing, when compared to other beverage categories.
Over the last 15 years, American craft breweries, and more recently seltzer brands, have built cult followings through cleverly designed branding and packaging, and by being fearless, disruptive marketers.
As cider gains momentum and popularity in the U.S. and beyond, I believe that a watershed moment is imminent when it comes to how it is branded, packaged, and marketed.
My hope is that Cultivar can help push cider brands towards that moment, and the industry as a whole towards better design, branding, packaging, and marketing, and help our category continue to flourish.
